  Warm welcome to Coreen! 

  Coreen has just joined today as Ambassador of Mantova, Italy and now she is already on the blog! A warm welcome to her!

  Hello! I am new the Ambassador for Mantova, Italy. Originally a Colorado gal, I have traveled to Italy numerous times and now make my home here. I have been fortunate to also visit New Zealand, Greece, France, and the tiny nation of St. Kitts and Nevis. I am amazed by the great diversity of our planet, and joined Earth.org to be a small part of its preservation.

  So go out, communicate and talk to people about the travel guide, about our remote work, about our non-profit approach,about our blog etc. etc. etc.

  Go on and:

  • communicate on your Twitter account and link to our pages!
  • mention your hometown on Earth.org in your Facebook status updates
  • publish links to our videos on your social networks
  • Tag our pages (travel guide, blog, remote work, jobs, etc.) on your Delicious account!
  • Rate Earth.org on Rateitall!
  • Comment and rate our Youtube videos!

    i agree with this, but maybe let’s wait we have the redesign and messaging going live so that the traffic we drive by these efforts converts into more new users from an improved web experience.

  Just read an interesting blogpost about the (un)importance of referral traffic from social networks, bookmarking sites, twitter etc.. http://www.sexywidget.com/my_weblog/2009/10/is-facebook-and-twitter-referral-traffic-wildly-overhyped.html

  Just to put things into perspective: search is still king of referral traffic with almost 98% of 60.000 tested sites! We have to be careful in setting targets for social media efforts. Traffic might not be the most realistic one to choose

  Back on-line finally after lots of connection probs this week with my wireless – well I am at my mum’s now using her wireless until Tuesday!

  Aim is to get the social media think tank doc. finished today and catch up with all the meetings that I didn’t manage to make!
