Re: Linkbuiliding – all those of you that have a blog or portofolio website: can you insert a link to earth.org as one of the projects you have worked for? We should request those now from everybody who ever worked for us. Would be great!

the power of the long tail!
bad news and good news: i screwed up with the robots.txt. google has been spidering pages that i didn’t want in the serps. that means we have about 1 mio urls in google that are unecessarily in there.
the good news in that is that i will now correct the robots.txt the pages will be removed in a couple of days or weeks and we should see boost of the other urls lets see what happens.
Errors are only human. Thanks for the confession
But you shuld be super human
Been working on directories and preparing the orange guidebook – this will put the power of online marketing in the hands of our ambassadors and content creators
Good morning with a good news: Our blog.earth.org made a jump from Page Rank 0 to Page Rank 4 with the latest updates. (This is not due to the change to P2, but due to the fact that we link to the blog from the website footer.)
yeay
jeez i was waiting for this. awesome ![]()
google knows 920 pages from the blog; http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ablog.earth.org&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
and here you can see some incoming links (not accuarte picture of the whole situation but gives you an idea): http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=ODg&q=link%3Ablog.earth.org&aq=f&oq=&aqi= i think a lot of those still come from adriannes work.
I’m not sure what this means, but it sounds good! Yay too!
@valentin @teresa Thinking about link building for the Blog. Is a blogging carnival something we could do something with? Anyway we write about remote work quite often here
http://blogcarnival.com/bc/cprof_7334.html
should we be spending time on linkbuilding for the blog though?
Well, we’re pushing the remote work topic in PR – this would kill two birds with one stone. (but then obviously no real birds would die;)
lol well i don’t know about blog carinvals as we are not a typical blog. if people want to feature us and you want to spend time on it. sure go ahead. i don’t really know about featuring other blogs on here. not sure if that is our purpose you know? you decide
also if its only reciprocal links then… well you know.
Just read an interesting blogpost about the (un)importance of referral traffic from social networks, bookmarking sites, twitter etc.. http://www.sexywidget.com/my_weblog/2009/10/is-facebook-and-twitter-referral-traffic-wildly-overhyped.html
Just to put things into perspective: search is still king of referral traffic with almost 98% of 60.000 tested sites! We have to be careful in setting targets for social media efforts. Traffic might not be the most realistic one to choose
had a quick meeting with cat over the categories. she is finishing up the categories now
making sure they are seo proof as well. then we can implement those! THANKS FOR THAT CAT!!!
With Teresa now, for final DE translation proofing
purrfect!
