Good morning EDO! Tried to catch some waves this morning at Kuta Reef – wow, very very difficult. Now catching some emails, much easier :-)
Will be a long day for me as I have meetings till 2 AM.

Get more connected on LinkedIn and Xing! Now the Earth.org guidelines are nearly updated by everyone, and I have seen some of you are not connected, but working closely together (e.g. Matthew and Rob). I hope I am now connected with everyone of you :-)

Perfect waves in Dreamland this morning, just too big for me. Still big fun.

Tomorrow here in Bali is a holiday – Galungan: “Galungan is a Balinese holiday that occurs every 210 days and lasts for 10 days. Kuningan is the last day of the holiday. Galungan means “When the Dharma is winning.” During this holiday the Balinese gods visit the Earth.” Source? Ahh, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galungan.

So basically we celebrate the victory of good over evil, yes!

And as we are following all the local holiday I guess Steve and me, we have a day off tomorrow. Well, will be working with 75% today and 75% tomorrow :-)

This morning the waves at dreamland were crazy big – was one hour in the water before taking the first wave. Many times cleaned up. Steve took a couple of super perfect waves! A friend has come to Bali – and now we try to catch a couple of waves in another spot called Balangan – before I hope to work a few hours in the evening.

This morning, while sitting and waiting for the next wave on dreamland beach someone asked Steve and me “What are you missing in Bali?” -> we were not able to answer the question. Everything fine here, hope you all have a nice weekend too!

Just come back from a nice surf with Steve, on the outer reef of Nusa Dua in the south of Bali. Got a couple of times “cleaned up”, I guess you can all imagine what this means;-) Stupidly, we surfed from 11 AM to 1:15 PM – so I have a little sunburn now. Guess I will never grow up! Now back to remote work!

Good morning EDO (by the way: EDO is our short form for Earth Dot Org)!
This morning Steve and me, we were up again early. From 6 AM to 9 AM we checked several spots at the west coast of Bali. Stupid, but the first one was the best at 6 AM, but not at 9 AM anymore, when we returned :-( Well, so we decided to have a short swim in the warm and clear water. Now a normal working day starts in Bali. Sunny greetings!
Reminder: Today is our monthly group meeting!

hey Otto&Steve.. I am little bit jealous :-D ; it’s getting cold here in the Austrian mountains now… but I will be surfing the snow very soon — with helmet, of course ;-) !!!

best greetings from your `old working place´… I´am just sitting on your chair in the office. In Berlin we also have a sunny morning! @Ute @imogen @otto looking forward to our meeting

hahahilarious; I just imagine the team… freezing, sweating, in sunny conditions and storms, in swim suits and winter jackets — all at the same time. Once we should try to take a picture of us – all at the day, hour, minute and second. Let’s create a big poster out of that :-D

Good Monday morning EDO. My day started with a surf at 5:45 AM at the dark side of Bali: There are beaches with white sand around here, and in the east, where Steve and me went surfing this morning, some beaches are just black! Real black with black rocks too! Nice to be in the water again.
    Now catching up with everything.

My setup here in Bali is nearly done: Car & Surfboard & new mobile number (+6281236781995) & 3G Internet Connection & nice place to stay. [Only the main Internet connection has a problem, which we want to fix tomorrow morning.] Big thanks to @Steve, who organised all of this. Ready for remote work from Bali!

More and more people and new team members are asking me: who are you, Earth.org team? what is Slobodan doing here? What are Cat’s tasks? Where is Mathias from? They can only see our small pics here and wonder what kind of people we are ;-)
Let me think… maybe we start a remake of our “Earth.org homestories” here on P2… or just a short interview… any ideas? I’d like to post that once a week.

Yes, would be nice to link the user name here on this blog to either a permalink of this blog, or to the internal pages. The first is much easier.
And it would be nice to see the location of everyone. Still, let us think simple. We can also rename our usernames here e.g. from otto -> otto from Bali :-)

Very soon Imogen will join our team. She is for now and for the next couple of months traveling in Spain. She needs an ok good internet connection – and now our question to everyone in Spain (I guess this is you David):

    1) Does the 3 G mobile connections work well in Spain? E.g. Steve in Bali uses such connection for his normal Internet access.
    2) Does Spain have affordable flat rate offers (or data package offers)?

If you know something that can help Imogen, I guess she would be very happy.

In the area I live in, there is no 3G because its a small village (2500 hab) so I havent had the chance to try it. However, in any bigger town 3G should work well. There are recent offers from Vodafone (they call it ADSL even though it isn’t) and from Orange (but this is limited after a certain amount of bandwidth). I hope it helps.

Thanks David, it does help. I have also been told that Vodafone is now able to connect a fixed line without the need for Telefonica… If this is the case, I will hopefully be able to save a few years of my life and get connected :-)

Hi Earth.org team (and everybody else out there)

You may have noticed already :-) It’s THE NEW place to be: http://blog.earth.org – it’s P2, where you meet the  Earth.org team!

In case you are not 100% sure if your message is “ready” for the public, please note:

Earth.org is open. Be it tech related topics, design, usability or marketing. We don’t have any secrets.

    Now you have 2 opportunities:

    • You can post short updates directly on top of the page (“Hello good morning Earth.org :-) “, interesting links for the team, updates on your work, questions, start discussions … well, FEEL FREE to write anything you want!)
    • Write a longer blog post on the WordPress dashboard (latest news from tech, updates from marketing or beautiful issues from design): http://blog.earth.org/wp-admin. Would be cool if you SHORTLY explain in the post why your topic is important for Earth.org. And please tag the longer blog post with “blog post” – it will automatically appear on the right side bar in “Earth.org NEWS”.

edolaunchwishes2_1In case you did not enter the fabulous world of P2 so far, please log in on the right side bar – enter a username and your email address – and you will receive the password via email.

    That’s it that’s all.
    Any questions? Contact me:  teresa(at)earth.org

Meet you at P2… ehh…  here!!!

    From Austria,

    Teresa
