    Hey, can someone help us here: Alba, our new PR volunteer, already has a WordPress.com account, but when she wants to log in here she is always redirected to her own personal blog. still she can only leave replies here and cannot post short updates. what’s wrong?

    In preparation to the Blog migration I did a little P2 stretching to get more familiar with the code. Although it’s not on blog.earth.org you might get some nice ideas of some things we could do design / functionality wise with the new P2 (some restrictions will apply). Check out http://sourcebench.com for some inspiration and use this post to add some ideas and suggestions you might get for the earth.org blog.

    Btw. as you picked P2 on a self hosted WordPress it might be worth checking out if we can increase the usability by adding http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jabber-feed/ for instant notifications.

      yes please do… that means then if yo anyboy uses google talk for instance… they can get their beloved notices about updates on this blog right? david, can you install it?

        how exactly do you subcribe. klicking the links in the footer is not working. will it work if i have google talk installed?

    Hi Earth.org team (and everybody else out there)

    You may have noticed already :-) It’s THE NEW place to be: http://blog.earth.org – it’s P2, where you meet the  Earth.org team!

    In case you are not 100% sure if your message is “ready” for the public, please note:

    Earth.org is open. Be it tech related topics, design, usability or marketing. We don’t have any secrets.

    Now you have 2 opportunities:

    • You can post short updates directly on top of the page (“Hello good morning Earth.org :-) “, interesting links for the team, updates on your work, questions, start discussions … well, FEEL FREE to write anything you want!)
    • Write a longer blog post on the WordPress dashboard (latest news from tech, updates from marketing or beautiful issues from design): http://blog.earth.org/wp-admin. Would be cool if you SHORTLY explain in the post why your topic is important for Earth.org. And please tag the longer blog post with “blog post” – it will automatically appear on the right side bar in “Earth.org NEWS”.

    Would be great to have @username options on this P2 theme, like Yammer has. Added email notification would make it even better! Maybe @thorsten can put in a good word for us ;)

      i agree the other thing that i think would be good is when you reply to a post it goes back to top.

      I agree with valentin – two very very important things. At the very least, we need a way to see the @me posts…when someone replies to a post from 2 days ago, like this, will you find it?
