I want to give a price to Dmitriy, Varun…

I have to give a prise to Dmitriy, Varun and David for the great work they have done on the Help section.
Since a couple of days we are fully online with a support community system which is based on Get Satisfaction and allows an interaction between the users as well as with the Earth.org staff.

    Have a look at: http://help.earth.org/helpstart.php

The first aim now is to strengthen the support community and the interaction among all the people that have questions, problems, Ideas and those who can have something to say about that.

In the end the same person goes from one side to the other and we are all the same, sometimes asking sometimes replying to someone else’s query :-)

Thanks again to you Eva, super! @valentinyeo, @alfreda – perhaps we could add the screencast-videos, which are already on YouTube, as a nice small guide for how to use CC-content somewhere in the editing box of the articles. Just to show userfriendly how much sources are there and how to use them. I personally think the short video expalins more then much text. What do you think?

I suggest to have a tutorial section in “About us” and link it in the help and in other pages also as Rafael suggest.

sorry guys i don’t wanna get on your nerves. while the screencast is good work i am fairly critical as to wether this is time spent well. the screen where the editor is is going to be changed quite soon. that means you have to do it again… the site is morphing so much these days.

    Morning all!

I just had a meeting with Varun. He is taking care about the Help section. He is doing a super job!
From the coding side we should be ready very soon.
Then our Layout aestheticians will have to make the page nice and we will finally have our help community fully online again. For the moment the help is done only and directly via mail (on-line form).

The help community is based on Get Satisfaction.

Everybody can search for answers without authentication.

To create questions, suggestions, Ideas, comments… the user should log in. Get Satisfaction offers an open login authentication which would allow us to keep our current subscription with them. To use the user authentication of Earth.org we should have a different subscription. But for the moment we do not need it I think. or?????

Any comment or Idea I’m on it.

Suggest you discuss it with @alfreda and @valentin.

Right, @alfreda @valentin your comments are welcome also on skype or mail.
Otherwise, for what I see the situation could stay as it is now.

Have a question, suggestion or bug report?

    Badge_logo_small

On 22 April Earth Day, Earth.org officially went into open beta. While there are still lots of bugs there are even more fantastic features planned, but we need your help finding them and getting us there.

To do this, we’re using the awesome Get Satisfaction community to help you communicate with us. Anywhere you see a bug or think there is space for a great feature, just click the Feedback link on the left hand side of the page.

We have a core developer dedicated to making sure that bugs you report are identified and addressed as fast as possible – you should always get a response within 24 hours to let you know what is happening.

Everyone in the Earth.org team is dedicated to making sure that the open travel guide we are all creating is driven by the community which uses is. We promise to leave the door to our development team as open as possible. And if you ever have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me personally and I’ll make sure you get an answer.
